Alhambra at Night by Justin Korn

Description:  I’m pretty sure this is my favorite capture from my trip to Europe two years ago.

Below is a synopsis of what I went through to get this picture.  If you are interested in the story from the entire day, you can find the story here.

After a long day of hiking around Granada and finally getting back to the hotel for some down time, I realized my time was running out to catch a photo of Alhambra at dusk. So, after a short 15 minute break, I was back on the streets and making my way as quickly as possible to Plaza Mirador de San Nicolas. Since earlier in the day I had literally walked the entire city of Granada, not fully paying attention to every step I took on the way,  I really was not 100% sure how to get back to the plaza and surely did not know the quickest way.  As I am running uphill (did I mention it was entirely uphill from the hotel to my final destination), the sky was changing colors quickly. When I finally made it, sweating and completely out of breath, I quickly found an open vantage point to setup my GorillaPod. With a few panhandlers playing guitar behind me and a couple making out next to me,  I focused on the prize and captured a few pictures of the great Alhambra lit up and back dropped by the snowy mountains behind it.
